This is a recipe for Cinnamon French Toast Sticks that you can easily make in the mornings when you feel like a nice, sweet breakfast, or for a dessert.
Time: 25 - 30 min Makes: 9 sticks
Ingredients
3 slices of thick white bread, crusts cut off
2 large eggs
1 tbsp milk
1 tbsp cinnamon
2 tbsp granulated sugar
Maple syrup and sliced fruits to serve
Directions
Step 1
In a small, shallow bowl, whisk the egg, milk, and one tsp of cinnamon. Set the mixture aside.
Step 2
Heat a medium-sized frying pan, sprayed with oil, on medium heat.
Step 3
Cut each slice of white bread into three equally sized, rectangular batons. Quickly dip each baton into the egg mixture and place in the frying pan, cooking each side until golden brown. Once cooked, place on a separate plate lined with paper towel. Repeat this until all the batons have been cooked.
Step 4
In a small bowl, mix the remaining cinnamon and sugar. Coat the French toast sticks in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Serve with maple syrup and sliced fruits. Enjoy!
