Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup of milk
3/4 cup cold butter
2 tbsp sugar
4 tsp baking powder
Directions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Step 2
Mix all the dry ingredients in a large bowl. cut the cold butter into medium sized cubes and mix it into the dry ingredients bowl. (don't mix it too well, you will still want to see tiny chunks of butter).
Step 3
Add in the egg and milk and mix them until the ingredients are just combined. (you should still be able to see the chunks of butter)
Step 4
Sprinkle a surface generously an put the dough on it. Knead the dough for about 30 seconds If the dough is too sticky, sprinkle some flour on it.
Step 5
Pat or roll the dough until it is about 3/4 of an inch thick and circles with a circular cutter or glass.
Step 6
Place the biscuits on a lightly buttered baking pan or parchment lined baking pan and bake it for 10 - 15 minutes or until the top is a golden brown colour.
