Fried Chicken Tenders

Here is a recipe for fried chicken tender that go well with almost any meal, like our potato fries, baked potato wedges, tomato pasta, and fried rice.

Fried Chicken Tenders

Ingredients

  1. 4 large boneless skinless chicken breasts sliced into 1-inch-thick strips.

  2. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  3. 1 tsp salt (extra for the flour)

  4. 1/2 tsp black pepper (extra for the flour)

  5. 2 eggs, beaten.

  6. Oil for frying

  7. 1/2 cup breadcrumbs


Directions

Step 1

Season the chicken strips with salt and black pepper.


Step 2

Crack the eggs into a small bowl and whisk it thoroughly, then place it aside. Next, pour the flour onto a medium-sized flat plate and add the extra salt and black pepper. Place the flour mixture aside. Lastly, pour the breadcrumbs onto a medium-sized plate and place them aside.

Step 3

Take one chicken strip and dunk it in the eggs. Then place it on the plate with flour and make sure that it is fully coated. Afterwards, place it back in the egg wash making sure it is fully coated with eggs. Lastly, place the chicken strip into the breadcrumbs and make sure it is evenly coated. Repeat this for the rest of the chicken strips.

Step 4

In a large skillet, heat your oil on medium heat. If you would like to check the temperature, place a small chicken strip in the oil. If it sizzles, then you can start adding your chicken, if it does not then you will have to wait a few more minutes.

Step 5

Place a few chicken strips into the skillet. Be careful not to overcrowd the skillet. Fry until the chicken strips have an internal temperature of 165 °F and are nice and golden brown or until well done inside. When done, remove the chicken from the skillet and place it on a plate lined with paper towel to drain out excess oil. Repeat this until all the chicken tenders have been fried.

Step 6

Allow to cool and enjoy!
