1. Use Natural Cleaners.

Most cleaners have chemicals that will contaminate the Earths water sources. Not only is it dangerous to the Environment, but it is also dangerous to us humans. By using natural cleaners (like baking soda and water) you can reduce the amount of chemicals entering various water sources. Good Housekeeping has some great DIY house cleaners that you can make.

2. Eat Less Meat

According to Future Learn, meat consumption produce greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change. You also need 1800 gallons of water (enough to fill about 30 bathtubs) to produce only 1 pound of beef (0.45 kg) which is a lot of water compared to other sources of protein. You do not need to completely eliminate meat out of your diet, but having one meatless meal a day can have a great impact. 3. Compost

Instead of putting food waste or things that can naturally break down in the trash, you can put it in a separate bin, your compost bin. You can compost it at home (this is a How to Compost Guide form Self) or find out if your community has any "compost pick up" programs. According to Green Action Centre, composting saves money and resources, improves your soil and reduces your impact on the environment. It also stops the food scraps from going to the landfills.

4. Re - Use

This tip can be used for anywhere in the house. If you have the rubber bands from veggies, take them and store them for when you need them. If you have the glass jars from past sauce, you can keep them for storage. If you have the plastic dinnerware that you get from take out, wash it and then you can use it to store any leftovers. Doing this can keep some of the resources that you can use again out of the landfill.
